Blacklight Ignite website and social media

Blacklights Ignite

Problem

For this project I was given the task of building a brand with the requirement of using neon pink and green. I also had to create a logo incorporating a specific lightbulb. The main challenge was to create a user-friendly site with the bright colors I was required to use while adding personality and appealing to the target audience.

My second challenge was to create a logo to replace the client’s current logo. The clients initially didn’t want to change their logo, but since it used a copyrighted image and was difficult to read, they allowed us to change it. The main requirement they had was to keep a very specific type of lightbulb in the logo.

Solution/Impact

To make the text on the site and designs as readable as possible, I chose to go with a mainly black background. This allowed me to make certain things, such as call-to-action buttons, stand out. It also added appeal to the target audience.

For the logo, I was able to come up with something that could easily be seen on the website, and did not include any copyrighted images. I also came up with other versions of the same logo that can be used in different situations, such as being placed on a white background.

My Role

  • Logo Creation
  • Website Design
  • Social Media Images

In addition to the website and logo, I created social designs that were based on the elements, colors, and typography used in the website as well as the copy written by my co-worker.
